What is the picture for?

What you're seeing is called a Captcha and it's used as a security measure to help keep our site clean. The specifics aren't important, but the idea is to ensure that anyone registering an account here is actually a human. There are many computer programs surfing the internet; going from webpage to webpage looking for email addresses or for ways to exploit very dyamic sites, like this one. These computer programs (called bots or spiders) are usually smart enough to sign up for an account and begin posting things like advertisements for drugs or even adult sites. In order to ensure that our site remains clean for everyone to view, we use this Captcha to weed out bots and spiders.

Bots and Spiders are very adept at reading text on webpages, just like the text you're reading now. They aren't very good, however, at reading text inside of images or graphics, especially when the text is randomly created and changes location and orientation. That is precisely what a good Captcha does. It dynamically creates text in random patters, positions, and orientations. This text is usually very easy for a human to read, but near impossible for a bot. In this way we can make sure that only real humans are signing up for our services.

In the event that you find the text in the graphic hard to read or make out, you can press the play audio button to hear an audio version. You may also refresh the page (Hit F5) as many times as you need in order to get a more easily understandable graphic. If you find that you still cannot read the graphic, please send an e-mail to ranger@forestoflove.com and let us know.

If you don't see a box with random jumping letters or numbers at all, then you probably need to download the latest version of Flash. Get it here.
