This tree belongs to Sandy and Teddy.

 More Information:
When we tell the story of how we met most people seem surprised and usually scrunch their face up with a questioning look. I guess it's hard to believe that something so terrible could get such a good spin, for the two of us anyway. You see we met at a funeral. My brother was meant to wed his sister and she tragically died of an unknown birth defect two weeks before their wedding. Teddy says he doesn't really remember much of that week which is to be expected. I remember the music starting and he just lost it and ran out of the service. His mom calling his name and he just kept going. It was all such a shock for her to die at the age of 19.

I remember talking to his sister about her family and she told me about her oldest brother who was the same age as me. She told me she was worried about him because he was on a path to trouble. I remember her showing me a picture of him and me saying, "He is cute". She just laughed at that.

It was my senior year of high school and the amusement park here had a special night for Seniors and I had two tickets. This was the week after the funeral and our family's were spending time together trying to support my brother and Teddy's family. We were at his house for a cook out and I asked if he would like to go to Senior Night with me. Seemed to me he jumped at the chance and we've been together ever since. This October 25th it will be 29 years of marriage. You just never know how something that is a tragedy can have that one element that just works out in other ways.
