"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I take the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference..."
Being 14? Can you be in love? Do you even know what love is at such a young, maturing age? Many people believe that young love does not last. 96% of high school relationships do not make it to marriage. Our motto from the beginning was "show them all wrong". Silly as it sounds, we met on social media, knew each other for 9 days, and fell in love. I know what your thinking, we're crazy. Being 609 miles away, Kody in Mississippi and Kali in Kentucky. We both had heard of long distance relationships but were terrified. The fear didn't last long; four months later we met in person. It was the most amazing memory we've ever had. Now, at 15, going almost 9 months strong, 436 miles apart, through many, many trials and tribulations. We suffer through many things: us both having cheated because of the affection needed in distance, Kali suffering from PCOS, depression, self-harm, trust, and Kody trying to deal with guilt, trying to help with depression, and fear, parents not understanding our relationship, and people calling us downright crazy. Nothing matters but our future, and our love for each other. It is stronger than any physical love possible. We go day by day until we can see each other again. |
