I used to be a shipwreck,
far off the shore.
Bottom of the sea,
I saw nothing more
But then there you were-
A light at the top.
You dove down deep,
and you wouldn't stop.
You held your breath
and took my hand.
You sat with me
in the soggy sand.
You would smile,
and with each passing day
you helped me Rise,
in you own way,
You were so sweet,
and you were so kind,
and while I'm not at the surface yet-
I'm proud to call you mine.
Because I know
with my hand in yours,
one day I will
See those sandy shores. |
