When I met John Ross, he was silly and overly sweet (nothing has changed), and the very first thing he did to show his affection for me was spell out in the mud in a dried-out lake "JRC (hearts) SEAM". Did I mention he was covered in mud, wearing boxers, in the middle of October? What started out as harmless flirtation began to manifest itself into something more. Soon, John Ross and I were climbing trees together, shopping together, playing hide and seek in our vehicles in large cities together, camping together, hiking together, caving together, growing together, learning together, driving long distances to see each other, and eventually, we began to realize that our lives felt somehow whole with the other being a part of it. John Ross is one of the greatest men I know, and I am more than content spending my days making him smile the way he has done for me since day one. |
