I met Erik when I moved into my apartment. He lived directly across the parking lot from me and our girls are the same age and played together almost every day. Although I took notice of his tall & athletic build, dark hair and gorgeous deep brown eyes, I didn't think too much of it. Our girls ended up being in the same girl scout troop and I would usually wait in my car for that hour and read. One week he tapped on my window and asked me out for coffee while the girls were in their meeting. That turned into a weekly coffee/chai tea break that I looked forward to more and more as each week passed. We shared relaxing conversations and unmistakable eye contact that gave me butterflies.
He then sealed the deal by walking into my apartment wearing his police uniform...he looked so damn sexy. Since then he has had my complete attention and I never did finish that book!
We both enjoy Nature. Holding hands while walking creates such an awesome space. We love to camp and boat....we just click.
Our first "date", I guess you could call it, was watching The Bodyguard & The Rum Diary at his house while the kids were playing. Rum Diary was painful to get through but I didn't want to be anywhere else. We had a couple drinks and played checkers. It was fun feeling like a teenager and feeling giddy and nervous.
We've been together ever since, which is almost 13 months.
He is a breath of fresh air. I love the way I feel around him and I love US.
I have my soul mate by my side and I look forward to every moment of our lives together.
I (virtually) carved our story on this tree, a Silver Maple tree, because we met and live on Silver Maple Ct.
